This week, we’re dropping a brand-new entry in The Basement Tapes series: Tape 005, Fifi’s Diner — a retro diner mess-fest starring new PieZone trouble magnet Fifi.
And yes, she understood the assignment.
If you’re new to The Basement Tapes, this is our VHS-loving, throwback little corner of PieZone — the stuff that feels like it got recorded off some weird late-night cable channel in 1993 and left in a box in somebody’s basement for 30 years. Grainy. Goofy. A little unhinged. Beautiful.
This time around, Fifi steps into the scene as a classic diner waitress, complete with short curly hair and a red-and-yellow uniform that basically screams, “this is not ending well.” It’s got big ketchup-and-mustard energy right from the jump, which... turns out to be a pretty accurate warning!

In Fifi’s Diner, the setup is simple and stupid in exactly the right way: rowdy customers roll in, things get out of hand, and Fifi ends up taking the heat. First comes the pie. Then, when she’s not exactly thrilled about being turned into part of the menu, the mess keeps coming — ketchup, mustard, chocolate sprinkles, and green cake batter all get thrown into the mix.
So yeah. This one escalates nicely!

What makes Fifi especially fun in the scene is that she really gets the joke. She’s upbeat, she’s game, and she has that rare quality that every great messy performer needs: she seems to find the whole thing genuinely hilarious. That always makes a difference. Some people can wear the costume. Some people can take the pie. But the real magic is when somebody clearly knows how ridiculous the whole setup is and leans all the way in.
And Fifi has one more thing going for her: she’s got a sneaky little secret involving Nickelodeon and pies in the face.
We’re not gonna spill the whole sundae here, but let’s just say this scene may have been a little more up her alley than anyone expected.
We’ll be posting a few preview goodies from the shoot, including aftermath shots and a little behind-the-scenes chaos, as release week rolls out. So if you like your slapstick messy, your food gags extra dumb, and your VHS nostalgia served hot, Fifi’s Diner is almost ready for the table.
